BIO // STAGE DIRECTION
Starting her career as an opera singer and trained under the guidance of director Davide Livermore, Chiara Osella has worked as an assistant director in productions at renowned theaters such as Teatro alla Scala (La Gioconda), Teatro dell’Opera di Roma (Aida, Otello, Simon Boccanegra), Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Rigoletto), Teatro Bellini di Catania (Norma), Palau de Les Arts in Valencia (Que son las nubes), Festival Torre del Lago (Tabarro/Bluebeard’s Castle), Reate Festival (Der Kaiser Von Atlantis), Soirées Lyriques de Sanxay (La Bohème).
Her directorial debut took place at the Turkistan Music and Drama Theater, KZ (Magzhan) and went on at Teatro Regio di Torino (Bastien und Bastienne) and for the opening of Klaipeda State Music Theater, LT (The Voyage) .
As a playwright, she contributed to the screenplay of "A riveder le stelle," the 2020 worldwide broadcast opening of the Teatro alla Scala season.
She attended the Opera Direction Course at the Paolo Grassi Academy in Milan and is a finalist of the Lithuanian National Opera Theater’s Young Director Competition and the 13th European Opera Directing Prize.
Additionally, she collaborates regularly as a co-creator with the contemporary theater-dance company C&C / Carlo Massari.
Graduating with honors from the Faculty of Disciplines of Arts, Music, and Entertainment in Turin, she specialized in didactic planning and techniques of Educational and Social Theater, actively involved in projects like Community Opera and Get Close to Opera of the RESEO network.
