With a curriculum that spans stage and screen, Chiara Osella is an eclectic artist whose repertoire encompasses classical, baroque and contemporary opera.
Chiara Osella made her debut as Flora in La Traviata at Teatro Lirico Sperimentale of Spoleto as a winner of the 66th annual vocal competition (Eva Marton head of jury).
She has been a member of the “Centre de Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo” at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, where she has performed in Simon Boccanegra (Ancella) with Plácido Domingo under the baton of Evelino Pidò, Vivaldi's L'incoronazione di Dario (Argene) and Juditha Triumphans (Holofernes and Ozias), both under the musical direction of Federico Maria Sardelli, with whom she has also worked at the Barga Opera Festival for Catone in Utica (Fulvio).
She appeared at the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music as Eco in Domenico Scarlatti's Narciso with Fabio Biondi and Europa Galante. She has been Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) at Teatro Regio di Torino and Dorabella (Così fan tutte) at Teatro Sociale di Pinerolo, Mrs Guidotti (I due timidi, Nino Rota) at Reate Festival, Dinah (Trouble in Tahiti, Leonard Bernstein) at Teatro Palladium and Casa del Jazz in Rome, Teatro Secci in Terni, Teatro Sociale in Amelia, Auditorium E. Morricone in Tor Vergata.
At the Royal Opera House of Muscat, she led the role of Proserpina in The Opera!, the world's first opera-musical conceived by director Davide Livermore and conducted by Steven Mercurio.
Chiara Osella also takes an active interest in contemporary music, starring as the main character in Missy Mazzoli's Song from the Uproar at Musiktheatertage Festival in Vienna and Teatro della Tosse in Genova and in Marcello Panni's Hanjo for Nuova Consonanza Festival. She has performed works written especially for her voice (Un guanciale di nuvole azzurre, Carlo Boccadoro) as well as world premieres Opera Migrante (Lucio Gregoretti, Andrea Cera), Doglie (Valerio Sannicandro) with the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale of Spoleto directed by Marco Angius, Un’infinita primavera attendo (Daniele Carnini) for Accademia Filarmonica Romana and Silent City (Nigel Osborne) for Matera Città della Cultura. At Teatro Politeama in Palermo she sings in L'esequie della luna (Francesco Pennisi) with Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana for Festival Nuove Musiche.
In her concert career, Chiara Osella has performed at the Rome Auditorium, Turin's Lingotto, the Palais de l'Unesco in Paris, and at the Seoul Arts Center, in a concert that was broadcast live on Korean state TV.
Being keen on experimentation, she is co-founder of the cross-over musical project Swing Opera (Parma OFF, Macerata Opera Festival, Umbria Jazz, ...), creator and performer in the theater show Estinzione with C&C Company and ORTIKA (Kilowatt Festival) and actress in Carlo Boccadoro's Cavoli a merenda (Teatro Elfo Puccini).
